懐かしのデッドライブ リマスター
もう４０年以上前の事。東京ドームで開かれた中古レコード市
で、手に入れたグレートフルデッドのライブ盤。ジャケットの
絵が薔薇に囲まれた骸骨で日本では「骸骨デッド」と呼ばれた
名盤で、その当時でもプレミアが付いてとても良い値段でした。
その後、ＣＤが発売されて、もうレコードは聴く事は無いので
はと思い、持っていたレコードを、二束三文で手放してしまい
ました。その中には、非売品のブルーススプリングスティーン
のアルバムや山下達郎のクリスマスイブの４５回転ＬＰなどが
あり、今、持っていたらひと財産になっていたであろうと思わ
れます。その中のひとつに、そのグレートフルデッドのライブ
盤もありました。
さて、何気なくネットニュースを見ていたら、そのライブ盤の
リリース５０周年を記念して、リマスターしたＣＤが発売する
事になったとありました。
リリースされたのは、昨年だったそうですが・・・
これは、ぜひ手に入れなければと、早々取り寄せたのがこれ。
オープニングは、フェードインで始まる「BERTHA」そして、最後
は、「GOIN'DOWN THE ROAD FEELING BAD」からメドレーとなる
「NOT FADE AWAY」。最高のＰＡと最高のノリのコンサート。
オリジナルのアルバムに入ってるライブの楽曲の他に、未発表
のライブ音源もボーナストラックとして収録されているとの事。
嬉しい限りです。
ところで、今年はジェリー・ガルシアの生誕８０年なのだそう。
考えてみれば、ジェリー・ガルシアって思ったよりも若くして
亡くなったんですね。

“ Dead Live Remastered for the Nostalgic “
It's more than 40 years ago. I got this a Greatful Dead
live record at a used record market held at the Tokyo Dome.
The cover picture was a skeleton surrounded by roses, and
it's called "Skeleton Dead" in Japan. Even at that time,
the price was high with a premium. After that, compact
discs became the mainstream for us to listen to music.
I thought I would never listen to records from now on,
so I gave away the records I had for a very low price.
Among them were Bruce Springsteen's first album in Japan,
which was a sample of record, and Tatsuro Yamashita's
45rpm LP of “ Christmas Eve ”.
If I had those records now, they would be a valuable asset.
And one of them was that Grateful Dead live album.
Well, the other day, I was looking at the Internet news
and saw that a remastered compact disc was going to be
released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Grateful
Dead live album. It's released last year.
I knew I had to have this compact disc, so I ordered it
as soon as I could.
The first song is " BERTHA " which starts with a fade in,
and the last song is " NOT FADE AWAY " which is a medley
from " GOIN'DOWN THE ROAD FEELING BAD ".
The concert is recorded with the best PA and the best
excitement. In addition to the live songs on the original
album, unreleased live material is included as a bonus
track. It's a great pleasure.
By the way, this year is the 80th anniversary of Jerry
Garcia's birth. He was the leader of the Grateful Dead,
but he passed away 27 years ago. Now, the Grateful Dead
is led by John Mayer who is a famous and great guitarist.
He joined the band, and they are still as popular today as
they were back then.
Greatful Dead are not so famous in Japan, but in the U.S.A.
they are as famous as the Rolling Stones.
