トーエーランドナーで行く 梨の収獲ボランティア
相変わらず暑い日が続きます。
なので、遠出をせずにご近所でランドナーに乗ってうろうろと
しております。
と、いう事で、本日のうろうろ。
中山の梨園に収獲のお手伝い。援農ボランティアであります。
数年前に参加した、横浜市市民大学講座でお知り合いになった
Ｓさんが、その時の実習研修で伺った先の農園が梨の栽培農園
で、それ以来、援農で梨栽培のお手伝いをされています。
亀は、その時の実習で伺った先の農園が葡萄栽培農園で、それ
以来、援農で葡萄栽培のお手伝いをしていて、お互いの農園の
作業の様子を体験してみたいという事となりました。そして、
今年の春に、亀の援農ボランティア先に、Ｓさんが体験作業と
して参加され、亀もＳさんの援農先に、今回、体験作業として
参加してきました。
今回の体験作業は、梨の収獲。以前から一度はやってみたいと
思っていた作業であります。
早朝、我が家から小一時間の距離に在る梨農園に向かいます。
まだ日の出には少し時間がある薄暗い中を走ります。
お盆が過ぎて、日の出が遅くなりました。
梨の収獲作業は、新鮮な梨を収獲して午前中に直売する為に、
早朝から行われます。朝の涼しい時間帯に作業をして、すぐに
直売するので、作業する人と梨に優しく、また、梨を買う人も
もぎたての新鮮な梨を食べる事が出来ます。
さて、その作業。
収獲する梨をどれにするかを決めて、もぐ作業は、農園を管理
するオーナー親子の作業となります。そのもいだ梨をコンテナ
に入れてトラックに積むのが援農をする亀達の作業となります。
どの梨を収獲するかの見極めは、なかなか難しくて経験を必要
となるのでオーナーの作業をとなります。そのもいだ梨を籠に
入れるですが、梨は結構な重量となるのである程度収獲したら
空の籠を渡して、梨で一杯になった籠を受け取ってコンテナに
傷が付かないように入れて、それをトラックに運ぶ作業が、亀
達の作業となります。ふたり１組で収獲作業をする事で、効率
良く収獲をする事が出来ます。そして、２組で収獲の作業をし、
２時間程で、トラック２台分の梨を収獲しました。
その後は、綺麗に拭いて選別してケースに詰める作業。
こちらは、パートの女性の方数名がその作業を行い、直売の分
と地方発送の分に分けて、発送分の梱包作業を行います。
収獲よりもその後の作業が大変です。これは、亀が伺っている
援農ボランティア先の葡萄農園でも同じであります。
そして、午前９時半から始まる直売。
その１時間以上前から順番待ちの人が並び、販売開始時刻には
約２０人以上の方が並び、すぐに完売となりました。
この点も亀が伺っている援農ボランティア先の葡萄農園と同じ
であります。
さて、お土産に梨を頂いて帰ります。
選別して売り物にはならないけど、味は変わらない梨を４個、
お土産に頂きました。嬉しい梨の収獲作業であります。
帰路は、久しぶりに鶴見川沿いの道をのんびりと走ります。
この辺りの風景も、数年前からはすっかり様変わりしてしまい
ました。
まだまだ暑い今年の夏、まだ当分の間は、遠出はせずにご近所
をうろうろしていましょう。

Tpoday's topic is " Harvesting Pears"
I went to a pear farm in Nakayama to help harvest pears.
I met a man at a Yokohama City Citizen's College course
I took part in a few years ago, and he visited a pear
farm as part of his practical training. Since then, he
has been helping to grow pears. I also visited a grape
farm for the practical training of the course, and since
then I have been assisting in the cultivation of grapes.
So We wanted to experience the cultivation of different
fruits on each other's farms. He had already came to the
grape farm to help. This was the first time I assisted
him in harvesting pears at the pear farm where he was
helping me.
Early in the morning, I ride my bicycle to the pear farm,
which is about an hour away from my house. It's still
some time before sunrise, so I ride my bicycle in the dim
light.Pear harvesting is done early in the morning in
order to harvest fresh pears for direct sale in the
morning. The work is done in the cool morning hours and
sold direct sale, which is kind to the workers and the
pears, and also allows the people to buy fresh pears.
Now, the work.
The farm owner and his son decide which pears to harvest,
and then they did the work of picking the pears. We put
the pears into containers and load them onto truck.
Determining which pears to harvest is quite difficult and
requires experience, so only the farm owner can do it.
Then they put the pears in baskets. So when the basket
becomes heavy with pears,I gave the empty basket to the
farm owner. Then I took the basket full of pears, transfer
them to a container to avoid damaging the pears, we load
pears onto a truck which takes them to area then comes
back twice about two hoyrs.
After that, the pears were wiped clean, sorted, and packed
into cases.A few part-time female workers did this work,
and then we separate the pears into two groups those for
direct sale and those for local shipment, and pack them
for shipment.The work afterwards is more difficult than
the harvesting. This is the same at the grape farm where
I volunteer.
The direct sales begin at 9:30 am. More than an hour before
that, people started lining up to take their turn, and by
the time the sales began, more than 20 people were lined up,
and the sales were soon sold out. This is also the same
as the grape farm where I volunteer.
I finish my work and take the pears home as souvenirs.
which are not for sale but taste the same good. It's my
happy pear harvesting work.
